…on the Fanball Sports Network…about the Devils….today. Yeah, pretty special. You can thank me later for all the awesome. Anyway, you might be asking yourself where I’ve been. Well, I’m here to answer that question.
First, you might have noticed on one of your many daily visits to this blog that there were some server issues for a while. There were also few other hiccups after that, but everything seems to be running smoothly now. Everything has been resolved by the awesome tech crew at Fanball. It did, however, leav
Road Warriors: A Look At The Devils Road Records
by Carlos Figueiredo
With the Devils starting this season with an 8-0 record on the road I asked myself: “Self, just how good are the Devils on the road, historically?” I didn’t have an answer, so I took to the interwebs and was able to compile an answer for myself. And now, I share it with all of you.
NOTE: I only went back to the ‘96-’97 season for a few reasons:
1) The Devils have made the playoffs every year since then,
2) The last time the Devils missed the playoffs (’95-’96) was the last time they had a losing record on the road,
3) I’m lazy and didn’t want to go back any further.
We’re Going Streaking!!
by Carlos Figueiredo
It looks like someone broke it to the Devils that if they want to keep playing after the regular season ends, they might just have to win some games at home. After an 0-3 start, they have gone 3-1 in their last four at home.
To go along with this sudden streak of home wins, they are also looking to go 8-0 on the road tonight when they travel up to Ottawa to face the Senators.
Overall, the Devils have won four in a row and 10 of 12 to get to within four points of the division leading Penguins. The Devils, however, have played two less games than Pittsburgh. In case you were wondering, they are just one point behind the Rangers

The Devils played at home last night against the Buffalo Sabres. In case you missed it, the home team lost 4-1 and were never really in the game. They gave up an early goal, just over a minute into the game, and it never looked like they recovered from that.
The Devils are now 1-4 at home and have not looked comfortable on their home ice. Their one win was a 2-0 shutout of Carolina, but you never got the sense that they had that game won until the final horn.
The Devils have now played 10 games on the season, playing five at home and five on the road. Let’s take a look at their home / road splits so far:

Brodeur Looks To Tie Terry Sawchuk Tonight
by Carlos Figueiredo
Martin Brodeur will be looking to tie Terry Sawchuk’s shutout record when he faces the New York Rangers tonight.
He will be looking not only to tie Sawchuk’s record of 103 shutouts, but also look to get a win against a team that he has only beaten once in the last 11 regular season games over the last three seasons. Brodeur will also be looking for his 40th win against the Rangers, a team that he has seven career shutouts against.
Brodeur got off to a shaky start this season when the Devils started 0-2 at home. One of those losses was a 3-2 loss to the Rangers. The team has gone 4-1 since then, including 3-0 on the road, wher
