Good Catch
On a rainy day when I can barely muster the energy to stay conscious...let alone tidy my apartment, the true measure of a significant other's goodness is there willingness to bring you pizza without being asked.I recommend Rudino's!
Gratin!
Hilda has changed my life. I knew I loved her robust build and her adventurous nature, but last night...she did things I never thought she could do...She perfectly created thin slices of red potatoes for a potato gratin. Amazing.I made two...cuz one's never enough. One for me and one for the bearded giant.I found my recipe over at Smitten Kitchen...and it was awesome.
Exciting Developments!
I haven't been blogging much, things have been busy here in the Triangle. I've been all over the place doing all sorts of things. I got myself a real estate agent who's funny and kind and helpful. We've been tooling through Raleigh, Cary and Morrisville looking at houses, townhouses and neighborhoods. It's been a learning experience for me, and about me to be honest. She arrived on Thursday evening, and I hadn't been feeling very well. Despite having had some sort of stomach bug for the week prior, I did my best to be a good hostess and to make sure that my mom and I were well fed. In addition to heading to our maiden voyage at Duck and Dumpling in Raleigh (amazing food!!), I also cooked my first Dutch Baby, my first whole chicken (stuffed with onions and lemons and rubbed with olive oil
foodie fun
I traveled up to Baltimore last weekend to deliver some knitted goods to Misha and some love to my mom. Now, I'm settled back in at home. I spent all last night doing laundry and cleaning my apartment. I feel like a new woman. Talk about cathartic. Now, tonight, I'll relax. There's a wine dinner at Second Empire in Raleigh. I can't wait. The menu looks amazing:FIRST COURSEPan-Roasted “Diver” Sea Scallopcreamy saffron risotto, Johnston Co. sweet potato, wilted spinach, spicy haricot vert, poblano & tomato vert jusSineann Oregon Pinot Gris
