Unreal Development Kit Now FREE !
It seems the game engine market is changing, rapidly. Epic have now released the Unreal Development Kit, free for non-comercial use. With games like Whizzle being developed with it, the next couple of years could see some very exciting (free?) games being released.

Unity Game Engine now FREE !!!
The Unity game engine has been made freely available (Press release 28th October 2009). The engine used to cost $199, but now it is available at no cost, this is a real bonus for budding game developers. I like the way Unity focusses on assets and exposes script variables through the GUI. Being able to use Javascript and C# is also very flexible. Unity Viewing Frustrum Problem
I've not had mch time to keep a blog lately. I've started a new job at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, teaching on the games degrees. I've introduced the Unity game engine on the degrees, and just as I was starting to work on my own project, Unity threw a big error at me which has cost me quite a few hours to fix, but as always, the solution is dead simple, finding it was not.On loading up any scene, an error message was displayed the in status bar at the bottom of the editor."Screen position out of view frustum (mouse pos 280.000000, 185.00000
