| Description: |
Every day people are bought and sold. According to Kevin Bales’ research in Disposable People, 27 million men, women and children are held as slaves in hard labor work, the sex industry, or as soldiers. There are more slaves today than there were in the entire 400 years of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Stop Traffick Fashion is joining forces with other human trafficking–fighting organizations to put a stop to the fastest growing international crime. Our online boutique will feature purses, clothes, jewelry, and other fashion accessories that are either made by people rescued from slavery or directly benefit organizations that help restore exploited people. In addition, at least 2% of Stop Traffick Fashion’s sales revenue will go directly to our partner organizations who seek hope, restoration, and justice for trafficked people. Our projected site launch is June ‘09.
This blog will be updated with information, news, and resources about human trafficking, as well as news about Stop Traffick Fashion. In the face of an overwhelming global problem we are calling of people everywhere to take small steps toward big change—and we’re excited that you’re joining us! |
