The Brace Position
It’s all to do with comfort. I’ve been a user of a night time Dental Brace for 20 years or more. I’m now on my third. They are expensive and custom made for each user, in a hard plastic. Most Dentists don’t have the skills, but fortunately a few do. Here is my newest Tanner [...]

Guten Tag!
I have some German neighbours. They are pensioners, speak good Spanish and passable English, lovely folks. They have family to stay, a son with family plus dog. Currently they are doing the tourist abroad stereotype. They are noisy, the dog barks and they think it’s OK to unload their car in the mid

Glorious April
We’ve always been fortunate with April skiing in Grimentz and 2012 was true to form. It seemed to snow every day, though from my photos, I see that there was at least 1 day where the sun shone. A great chance to revisit the new routes we tried in January, though some were not safe to [...]

This Way Up
January was filled with snowy days. We received top ups most days, and fat(ish) skis were the weapon of choice. There were a few sunny days, I know this because I have the photos! Because the snow was so good, we explored new routes and new slopes, and falling over in these conditions is less [...]

The Knowledge
It’s been a desire of mine to learn more about Avalanche awareness for some time. I do like to ski off piste, and I wanted to make my own decisions about slope safety and route choice, as opposed to waiting for others to make a move, and then citing the “difficulty” of teaching this stuff, [...]

Persistence
It’s not often that I get up in the morning and the day starts to go wrong, but when it does happen, clearly there is some catching up to do. My day started normally and well ordered. I was heading for Chamonix, just a quick hop by train from Martigny, Checked on the Swiss Rail [...]

Strange Vibes
I went to the London Ski Show this Autumn. It’s a showcase for the brightest stars in the UK and European Industry to show their wares, and, in some cases themselves. I met many old friends, I enjoyed renewing friendships, making new friends, and even participated in my first TweetUp. This year the

Acting The Tourist
Lovely sunny day for a bit of sightseeing. We used to live in Hampshire and have not visited for so long, for no good reason. The Spinnaker Tower was built after we moved away, so we played tourist for the day, visited where we used to live and took in some stunning harbour views from [...]

Fiesta Peniscola 2011
We make sure we are in Spain for Fiesta. In September, Peniscola has a massive party, lasting a couple of weeks. Parades, Bands, Fireworks, all night Disco’s and traditional Spanish celebrations. It’s better to show you the photos, words can’t really explain the atmosphere! Here is some video of the
