Accidental vacation
I AM BACK. Thanks to all sorts of confusing Internet Type Things my web site was down for like a week-plus. But now I’m back. Back I say. Oh God. I had all these things to tell you. I don’t even know. I guess it doesn’t matter. Here’s a candid photograph. We were watching a video. Sometimes Owen likes to watch on his feet. OK! I gotta go write some stuff with deadlines on it and fast forward through this Meat Loaf son
More ways to find and recycle fabric
Quick quick on my way out the door: I saw these great tips for recycling fabric on Burda Style, in a post about the new book Quilting For Peace (looks like a good one to put on the bookshelf). Finding and Recycling Fabric for Quilts and Projects  | BurdaStyle.com.
Sew For Broke: Miniature Patchwork Pincushions
Just saw this on the purl bee — teeny weeny patchwork. I have a doll quilt I just finished a few weeks ago that is made of three-quarter-inch nine-patch squares, and this is way smaller than that. I love it. I still haven’t made a pincushion for myself, either. But this makes me want to get started. Miniature Patchwork Pincushions - the purl bee.
Happy housiversary!
We moved in to our new house the week of Halloween 2008, which means we’ve now been here a whole year. We’ve seen all four seasons and every major holiday, memorized the quickest routes to school and work and grocery store, met a bunch of super people and started our own traditions. It makes me a little verklempt to think of my kids growing up in this house; to picture my sons as teenagers and the inevitable scars and scrapes this house
Sew For Broke: Crochet a hanging garden
Came across this little idea on design*sponge. We have a stupid huge store of glass jars; making little covers for them would be easy, and then hanging them is such a good idea when horizontal space is at a premium. Pattern by Lauren Anderson at the link below.
