Tomato, Kale, and Goat Cheese Pizza

I loved pizza night growing up.  It usually fell on a Friday since our family was so big, and we had approximately 10,000 activities between the 5 kids.  My dad swung by our favorite pizza place, picked up a few pizzas, and we ate a quick dinner at home before taking off everywhere. In college, [...

Edible Chocolate Peanut Butter Playdoh

Things have been wonderfully busy around here.  We are finishing up our year of “tot school” before we start preschool in the Fall.  The weather has been gorgeous, and I’ve gratefully been spending hours upon hours outside with the kids and Nathan {when he is available}.  We’ve been painting, planti

Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Broccoli

I love macaroni and cheese.  There are a number of mac & cheese goodies on this site.  There is something nostalgic about a dish that was so popular in my house growing up.  It even brings back fond memories of eating Easy Mac in college. With our summer weather already here, this is the last [...]

Must Read Cookbooks

I am not a cookbook hoarder.  I own less than 15 cookbooks.  Shocking.  I know. Instead I compulsively take them out from the library, go on a massive cooking spree from one book, and return it.  Repeat with next cookbook.  Repeat by taking the same books out over and over and over. The Homeschool Mother’s Journal: M is for Making It

In my life this week… Nathan went back to work this week, so it was the two kids and myself all alone!  Can I just say I think it was a blast?  Honestly, at this point 2 kids is way easier than I expected.  Homeslice is obsessed with his little sister, and that is making [...]

Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting

There comes a time in everyone’s life where they must make the most delicious frosting to ever exist. That time has come for me.  And you. I am not ashamed of my addictions to both peanut butter and all buttercream frostings.  Peanut butter is good for you, so that makes all things containing peanut

Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg Rice Krispies Treats

My second favorite candy in the world is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. My first? Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs.  For some reason they taste even better than their cup counterpart.  Maybe it is a different chocolate to peanut butter ratio.  Or maybe it is solely because they are egg shaped. Either way.  T

Birth is not a competition.

I hadn’t planned to write this.  In fact, I have an awesome recipe waiting to be published, but after reading a few things on the internet today and encouragement from some Twitter friends I need to write this. Giving birth is not a competition. Earlier today I was looking up something regarding rec

Remember me?

Wow the past almost 3 weeks have completely gotten away from me.  I won’t go into detail, but things have been crazy around here in a mostly good way.  I’m knee deep in getting everything ready for the new baby to arrive in 3 weeks, and Nathan has been incredibly busy with work.  Additionally, Homes
