Penguins Russian radio show currently on the air
The debut of the Penguins’ radio show in Russian, hosted by Alyonka Larionov, is currently on the air.
Penguins comeback for 3-2 OT win over Panthers
As the clock wound down in the third period, it appeared that this game just wouldn’t be in the cards for the Penguins. As it turned out, a nice dirty goal off the shoulder of Panthers’ goalie Tomas Vokoun, combined with a Mike Rupp goal after an 88 second extended shift in the Panthers’ zone late in regulation forced the game into overtime.  From there, a double minor high-sticking penalty gave the Penguins a 4-on-3 powerplay, where Sidney Crosby banged the rebound of an Evgeni Malkin shot past Vokoun for a 3-2 Penguins win. Vokoun stopped 42 of the 45 Penguin shots, while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 19 of 21.
Penguins bounce back with 3-2 win over Thrashers
Two days after a 6-2 lackluster effort in Ottawa, the Penguins got another healthy body back in the lineup and started to regain some of their form tonight with a 3-2 win over the Thrashers at Philips Arena. That ultra-sniper Martin Skoula scored twice for the Penguins (sarcasm), while Evgeni Malkin had the other tally.  Chris Thorburn and Maxim Afinogenov scored for Atlanta. The Pens welcomed back defenseman Brooks Oprik back to the ice, while Pens’ announcer Paul Steigerwald mentioned that Tyler Kennedy practiced with the team with contact and might be back in the lineup Monday night at Florida.
Penguins re-assign defenseman Nate Guenin
Good news for the return of Brooks Orpik Saturday night.  From the Penguins: The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Nate Guenin to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero. Guenin, a Hopewell High School graduate, saw action in two games for the Penguins, becoming the third Pittsburgh native to play for the organization in the last three seasons (Bill Thomas, 2008-09; Ryan Malone, 2003-08). Guenin has spent the majority of this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a plus-1 rating and 22 penalty minutes in 15 contests.
Orpik plans to return Saturday vs. Thrashers
According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette’s Dave Molinari, Pens defenseman Brooks Orpik plans to return to the lineup for Saturday night’s game vs. Atlanta. Orpik, out since Nov. 10th because of a suspected hip injury, stated that “I think I’m in as long as all goes well tomorrow,”
