So it begins…
Here I am on the ski lift at Copper Mountain for Opening Day 2009! I think this is my first Colorado opening day, as I’m not usually a fan of battling the crowds on the Ribbon of Death! But, my friend Doug from Elevation Outdoors scored us some tickets, so I thought it would be fun to get some early season runs in. And today is a gorgeous sunny day in Boulder. A great day to be outside . . . unfortunately I’ve got a SUPER busy week.  I did step out for lunch and take a quick shot outside the office.

It’s hard to believe this was 5 days ago
We are experiencing the classically fickle Colorado weather right now.  It’s 66 degrees out and it feels blazing hot in jeans in the sun.  It made me realize that I took a picture out front of my office last week that I was going to post.  We had this much snow and it’s gone gone gone!

Angled Focal Plane
I finally found a breakfast burrito downtown that doesn’t have eggs in it.  It’s at Two Spoons, which also has cool tables.  And I got a free cup of hot chocolate. It took me a while to get the angle of the focus plane just right.  I like the line of focus from one corner to the other.  This is with the tilt shift rotated at around 45 degrees.  I’m getting better at it, but it takes a while to figure it all out.

It’s still snowing
The snow was supposed to have let up by now, but it is still snowing in Boulder.  We got a ton of moisture, but the temps were warm enough that a lot of the snow has melted as it has come down.  Some of the last leaves of fall are still hanging on.
