New Online Social Network for Expat Women in Thailand
I’ve recently learned of a new online social network just for us women living in Thailand! We are arriving in increasing numbers and it’s so nice to have a supportive network of like-minded people to have a conversation with and relax or make some good in the world.
Chicky Net is an online social forum for women living in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Phuket and Chiang Mai. Cool Videos Out from Paiboon Publishing
I wanted to share with you some projects my husband, Golf, and I have been working on with Paiboon Publishing of Thai For Beginners fame.
The first is a video of a classic song about the full Thai name for Bangkok set to a Tango tune. The song helps you to remember the world’s longest city name. It’s beautifully done with photos of Bangkok and Benjawan and her husband, Nicolas, share some of their talented tango dancing for us. In the video, I am the voice of the native English speaking female.
The next video is about Thai Proverbs. While it is all in
Skin Protection in Thailand
The tropical heat and sun of Thailand is fierce. You’re living far closer to the equator than you have before and your skin is crying out because of it! I learned the hard way how important it is to use sunscreen on all your exposed skin when you leave for the day, even when you don’t plan on being outside for long.
I would take the time to ensure that my facial moisturizer had SPF in it, but I neglected my arms and hands. Now, a few years later, I have sun damage on them – brown spots everywhere! My arms and hands now look a good 10 years older than my actual age, and now I’m going to have to invest in dermatological care if I want to reverse that damage.
