Simple, Not Easy
Good morning, friends and Uncommoners! After moving, sickness, and then trying to catch up with my Uncommon life after everything I present here again and will get back to regular postings. Thank you to all of you who send your well wishes and continued to check in these past few weeks!
Today we have a real treat - one of our veteran Uncommoners, Barry Wright, III, is taking the reins and sharing his knowledge and experience one year into his own Uncommon Life. Thanks for your time and wisdom, Barry, I know the whole TLU community joins me in thanking you for your time!

Recovering From the Flu
Ugh, if there isn’t anything more miserable than being laid up with the flu, then I don’t know what is…except maybe spending 40-80s a week a job I hate. OK, so that might be worse…
Today is the first day I’m back online, both literally and figuratively, after being struck down by a flu like malady that had me in bed all day with a fever, headache, body aches, and swollen throat. Yikes.
As I was laying under three exceptionally heavy blankets and adjusting the setting on my heating pad, drifting listlessly from one nap to another, I very clearly had this thought:
“Thank God I don’t work in an office anymore.”
How to Cut and Run Productively
For intrepid Uncommoners, sometimes it is hard to admit when you’ve run up a brick wall. I’m not talking about the type of wall that you can push through with a little bit of moxie and determination, I’m talking about a solid concrete wall that means you just need to back-track and try a different tactic. When we do encounter such a wall (which hopefully isn’t often), there are two options in front of us: bang our heads against the wall until we are senseless and demotivated, or accept the wall and love it for what it really is: a road marker.
Everyone knows that famous line of Thomas Edison who claimed he didn’t fail 20,000 times, he just found 2
Make It Happen
Friends and Uncommoners, how are you doing on working toward your Uncommon goals?
It is the start of a new week in the middle of one of the last months of the year. How close are you to achieving what you set out to do in January?
If you are like me, you’ve already been able to cross a few items off the list but are a little intimidated by the number of things you have yet to finish - or even start.
But today I want to share something very important with you…
It is never too late to start.
Let me say that again: it is never too late to start.
No matter what types of goals you have on your to-do list this year,
The Real Secret of the Law of Attraction
Since The Secret burst onto the personal development scene in 2006, the law of attraction has been everywhere. It has become the topic of many a coffee house discussion as well as the fodder for more than a few jokes. Some people swear by it, some people abhor it, and some people still don’t know what the heck it is.
I first read The Secret while on a cruise with some girlfriends the summer it came out, and while the text didn’t really resonate with me at the time (and honestly it still doesn’t), the idea of the law of attraction stayed with me and has floated in and out of my aware
