| Description: |
The title of the blog comes from Stan Grenz' book, Beyond Foundationalism. The point is that there are common events and shared activities that we can hold in common, a common text, if you will. And we can "read" from that common text of life, the bible, school, our neighborhoods, and find meaning. Specifically, 1) what does it mean to be where we are? How closely do we look at the mundane elements of life, and how likely then are we to notice the serendipitous and the divine when it comes by? and 2) how does that awareness create a local, as opposed to a "general", theological imagination that is reflective, humane and progressive? |
