One of a kind and never, ever forgotten.
It occurred to me last night while talking to a friend that I still haven't really addressed Grover's passing on my blog. While I've certainly accepted the reality of it, it's still incredibly hard to actually put into words that he is no longer with me. I took a slew of photos the last night he was with me, I burned two disks, saved them on two external hard drives, my laptop, and I can't bring myself to clear the compact flash card. I drive around with one disk in my car, and I carry the flash card with me in my camera bag. I can't bring myself to do anything with them yet, and I'm terrified of losing them. In the mean time, I had to share with all of you how amazing my

"The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain." - Kahlil Gibran, as quoted in a favorite book of mine, "The Shaman's Bulldog."I still don't understand why sometimes, but I hope it's somehow true. I've never experienced pain like I did two months ago, so I'm pretty sure I have a cavernous chasm just waiting to be filled with said joy. I've never seen anything like the outpouring of love and emotion I saw
Saratoga Springs ::: 10.30.09
Last weekend, I hopped up to Saratoga for a couple days of rest, relaxation, and fun. It's changed so much over the past few years... I'm not sure I even recognize most of it. But it still felt welcoming. :) Behold all the randomness that occurred when I dragged my camera along.
Puttin' on the Dog ::: Adopt-A-Dog, Greenwich CT ::: 10.18.09
A couple weekends ago, I had the huge pleasure of being asked to shoot Adopt-A-Dog's annual benefit "Puttin' on the Dog." I was told it's been in existence for over 20 years, and usually brings in 6,000 people. There are more vendors than the eye can see, rings and rings for contest after contest, tons of food and, oh yes, lots and lots of pooches! :) Unfortunately, for the first time in many, many years, the event was essentially rained out. It was about 34 degrees, windy, and it poured pretty much all day. With no rain date and no alternate indoor location, the organization lo
Family Portraits ::: 10.11.09
"Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." A classic Ferris Bueller quote. But at this point in my life, all too true. Between dealing with the passing of my beloved companion Grover, my amazing adventure through Germany, EIGHT MORE weddings I have yet to share with you all, a wonderful (if a bit damp) Greenwich pet adoption event, and some very exciting news to come in the next few days... not to mention a regular full-time job!... I'm trying desperately to keep my blog updated. But it's nearly impossible! Today, I get to share my favorite family's portraits. Check out what I wrote this time LAST year:
