Old Friend
This poem brings back childhood memories that brighten my life. It was written as a metaphor of a time in my life as an adult, however.

What if there’s no hell
“Imagine there’s no heaven…it’s easy if you try…no hell below us…above us only sky.” This Beatles song runs through my mind tonight as I write these words. Please forgive me if I got the lyrics a little off. So what about it? What if there’s no hell? As I learn more about God, I have less and less trouble believing in heaven. Love – What it is and isn’t

As I was raised in conservative religion, I was taught – non-intentionally – that I must do what I can to be in line with the Scriptures.  I must rely on my striving to be like Jesus.
