Controversial Billboards in Lexington, Ky
Apparently atheists are not allowed to cause “controversy” in Lexington, KY, but the Christians are. A new billboard was put up a couple of days ago on a well-travelled route in Lexington that states the following. HOMOSEXUALITY IS AN ABOMINATION ROMANS 1:26-28 LEVITICUS 18:22 ABORTION IS MURDER EXO

Ideas from the Women in Secularism Conference #wiscfi
The Women in Secularism Conference is over now, and I am back at home enjoying one more day of vacation before jumping back into my work-a-day life. While I still have a bit of time off, I want to reflect on what I have learned at the Women in Secularism conference and how I can [...]

Upcoming Women in Secularism Conference
Next weekend I will be attending the Center for Inquiry’s Women in Secularism conference in Washington DC. I’ve been to multiple atheist conventions in the past, including the American Atheists Convention and Skepticon, but this will be the first time I’ve been to a conference focusing on the contr

War on Women Rally
Last Saturday I went to the War Against the War on Women Rally in Louisville, Ky. There were rallies in multiple cities across the country, which were organized by Unite Women. These rallies are mainly in response to the surge in conservative politicians attempting to roll back women’s rights and he

My Homeschool Story
The Thinking Atheist had a podcast about homeschooling last Tuesday. I wish it had been a day that I could listen to the show live, because I might have called in if it was. I was a home schooled kid during high school. I had been in the public schools from K to 8th grade. [...]

Presupositionalism: Shackles for your reason
I listened to a Thinking Atheist podcast last week. The title of the podcast was “Proof that God Exist,” which is the title for the website of the Christian apologist who was the guest speaker, Sye ten Bruggencate. The guy is a presupositionalist who fully expects unbelievers to not understand his

Mocking faith?
I found this on my Facebook wall today, though I’m not exactly sure where it originated. Nor have I heard of Simon Amstell before today. I do like this quote though, and I think it captures perfectly what Richard Dawkins had to say at the Reason Rally about how to deal with faith. I don’t [...]

Question with Boldness: Thoughts on Belief
“Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear.” – Thomas Jefferson What do I believe? I find it a bit odd when people say that atheists believe in nothing. To be human is to hold [...]
