Right On Resources: A good read!
As an instructor at Red Deer College, I come across some fantastic reading material.  There are a number of great books out there specifically for the Virtual Assistant and those individuals who work from home.  I thought I would share a few of these awesome books with you today. VA Specific: The Business of Being Virtual: Industry Leaders Reveal Their Virtual Assistant Business Secrets By Pam Ivey and Kristi Pavlik.   http://www.businessofbeingvirtual.com/ How to Build a Successful Virtual Assistant Business By Janice Byer and Elayne Whitfield
Only Human
I know, I know I haven’t posted for two weeks!  My apologies, I’ve been a little tied up with my Coordinator position for the VA Certificate Program. Although I’m having a great time learning the “behind the scenes” administration that goes along with a college program, it’s been very time consuming to say the least.   So needless to say, a few things have fallen by the way side during the past two weeks.  But I’m okay with it!   In the past I would have worked frantically to meet every deadline, complete every project even if it killed me.  Now, not so much!  I guess I’ve finally realized that I am in fact human and not the “super woman” I
Letter of Gratitude: #3
I have to say as I was preparing to write my final letter of gratitude it was really, really tough.  The problem you see is I have so many people to be grateful for in my life that choosing just one for this final letter was almost impossible.  The only solution that made sense to me was to include all of those individuals into this blog post…so here it is.  The final Letter of Gratitude. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!   To Jerry (my Coach):  You have been my coach, my friend, my confident for over a year.  You have been a huge support to me and my growth as a person.  Without you I would be walking down a very different path then the one I a
Letter of Gratitude: #2
My second letter of gratitude is for an individual who is such a huge part of my professional and personal life. Without her, I’m not sure I would be the person I am today. Dear Laura, I believe in life we are “meant” to meet certain people. I truly believe in this.  What’s funny is as I was preparing to write this letter to you, I received a lovely email and this is what it said: “God doesn’t give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED:  To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be. “ You my dear, are one of those individuals.  When we
Letter of Gratitude: #1
Here it is, my first letter of gratitude in a series of letters that I will be writing to certain individuals over the next three weeks up until Thanksgiving. For  those of you who know me well, are probably not surprised at all who the recipient of my first letter of gratitude is.     Dear MLA (AKA Mary-Lou Ashton), I think I can honestly say that you know me better than anyone.  You of all people know that under the sometimes “hard guarded exterior” is a complete and utter “marshmallow”.
