UPGRADE: Windows Mobile 6.5 "Second Edition" is real but yet Unnamed and Unannounced
Some
weeks ago,
I wrote about an expected upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 version which I called
that time "Windows
Mobile 6.5 Second Edition". And so far, everything was completely
unconfirmed, but now it seems that Microsoft is indeed working on an update of
its recently launched
Windows Mobile 6.5 Windows phone operating system. Mordy Gilden from
mopocket just had a rare opportunity to speak with a Microsoft representative
while visiting a Microsoft booth at a tech showcase event. When the Microsoft
representative was asked about "Windows Mobile 6.5.1" he answered
many of Mordy's questions, although he politely asked not to print his name.

UPDATE: Twikini 2.0 for Windows Mobile receives new features
There
are a couple of Twitter clients for Windows Mobile available and one of the top
5 might be Trinket Software's
Twikini, which was
released back in April. Supporting Windows Mobile Standard and Professional phone,
Twikini is one of the few Twitter apps for Windows Mobile which is entirely written in native C++ code for maximum performance
and the fastest load time as possible.
It already allowed to post tweets using a full screen editor and optionally allowed to set
your location (either manually or using GPS) along with your status updates. Twitpic integration
also allowed to post photos with your status updates, either by
selecting an existing photo or by snapping a new one.

PETITION: Submission calls Samsung to Upgrade the Samsung Galaxy to Android 2.0
When
the Samsung Galaxy
was
announced earlier this year, it was quite a state-of-the-art
Android smartphone,
at time of the launch it ran the brand new
Android 1.5/Cupcake
OS and featured a unique AMOLED touchscreen and a 5 megapixel camera with flash
(both first for Android). However, as time went bye, Google released
Android 1.6/Donut
and Android 2.0/Eclair
and except
minor bugfix releases, Samsung
hasn't made any progress to either release the much overdue Android 1.6
update or the even worthier Android 2.0 upgrade.

PHOTOVIEW: Motorola Dext / Motorola Cliq Android Smartphone
While
the Motorola Droid / Motorola Milestone isn't Motorola's first Android
smartphone, it gets all the attention. However, the title of being Motorola's
first Android smartphone deserves the Motorola Cliq / Motorola Dext,
Motorola
unveiled early September. The Motorola Cliq (for North America) / Motorola Dext
(for Europe and Latin America) is a slider phone with software and a 4-row
hardware keyboard that still runs on Android 1.5 (Cupcake). It features quadband
GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as triband UMTS/HSDPA at 900/1700/2100 MHz as well as
Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g, aGPS, a compass, proximity sensor and an ambient
light sensor.
