Spring frill fix

Over the weekend, I celebrated my 25th birthday with some close friends and a cookout. We were celebrating several birthdays, though Saturday was my actual birthday. Despite picking the date when we were all available, there wasn’t much planning, so we ended up shopping for cookout supplies the day

Back in the swing of things

(Dress (as skirt) Rag o Rama. Shirt: Kohls. Necklace: World Market. Flats: Steve Madden) I look like a work-appropriate ballerina today. Well, at least in my head. It must be something about the flouncy skirt. I got this dress back on our Thrifty Threads shopping adventure a few years ago (I think i

Congrats Katy!

Congratulations to Katy and her new husband, Eric, who tied the knot on Saturday! I know Katy will have lots to write about when she returns, but for now, here’s a quick glimpse into her beautiful wedding. Filed under: Wedding Attire

In with the new, part one

Last week I went on a small shopping spree. I say small because the stores consisted of Ross and Goodwill, neither of which are traditionally bank-breakers. I spent about $40 at Ross on a pair of pink shorts, two shirts for work, and a work dress, and I spent about $20 at Goodwill on four [...]

10 minutes or less

I have perfected speed thrifting. What is speed thrifting you ask? Stay tuned. Eric and I stopped by Goodwill on Saturday to drop off boxes and boxes of old kitchen stuff that has since been replaced by wedding gifts. Fabulous Las Vegas (year 2)

For the second year in a row, Shannon and I jetted off to fabulous Las Vegas for a long weekend of drinks by the pool, a Cirque show, and nights on the Strip. This year, we stayed at The Mirage, and our friend Sara joined us for the festivities. Last year, Shannon and I stayed at [...]

An investment

I did something this weekend that I hadn’t done up until this point: I made an investment in my closet. My shopping usually revolves around quantity rather than quality. Sure, I get lucky at the thrift store with a find from Ann Taylor or the Gap, but I mostly pick up a lot of no-name [...]

On trend at the thrift store

I hadn’t gone thrifting in awhile. I was out and about on Saturday running a bunch of errands and found myself near the Salvation Army store. I have been limiting myself to a budget for the past few months and, minus wedding or honeymoon related purchases, I’ve been pretty good about sticking to it.

Great lengths

I love maxi dresses. Like it is pretty insane. They are so versatile. You can just wear them on their own. You can dress them up. You can lounge around the house in it on the weekend. Love. The three I own are pretty much the only clothing I am bringing with me on my [...]
