It really is getting boring….
Yet again, another website has ripped off my content. The only difference this time is how I feel about it. This new case of copyright infringement brings my total to 4. That’s 4 different VAs and now Bookkeeper who has ripped off my content with no regards to the effect it has on me and my business. That’s 4 people who were either too lazy to write their own content or too lazy to check the work their ‘copywriter’ has ‘produced’ for them.
I twittered about the latest infringement during the week and the lovely @BillHarper found me a
Why you should reconcile your accounts…. seriously!
It’s an issue I come a cross often, incorrect or no reconcilation of accounts and it still amazes me to see it. I can’t imagine not reconciling the accounts and don’t understand why people are so laid back about doing it. Reconciling your accounts are important for a number of reasons:
It picks up any missing transactions that you may have misplaced a receipt for;
It picks up any transactions that should not have gone through your bank account;
It picks up over payments to suppliers;
It picks up over payments by customers;
It’s good business practice to do it.

What a funky theme!
Being a WordPress girl through and through, it’s not often that I find a theme from another blogging platform that I like. Cruising past Your Cheeky Monkey’s blog today (I usually only read through my feed reader) was like a breath of fresh air. The theme is so funky and it fits perfectly with the image her business portrays online. What are the odds of finding a pre-designed theme that suits your business so well?

Announcing the Australian Virtual Assistant Conference
The Australian VA Conference (AVAC) will be held in Melbourne, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 March 2010. While it’s called The ‘Australian’ VA Conference it doesn’t mean you can’t come if you’re not Australian. It simply means it is being run in Australia and everyone is invited.
We are excited to be putting on a conference for VAs by VAs. We promise you that the lineup will include names well known to the Virtual Assistant industry.
Co-ordinators for AVAC are Kathie M. Thomas from “A Clayton’s Secretary” and Anita Kilkenny from AKA Virtual PA.
Using Filters in QuickBooks 2009/10 – Australian Edition
In my business new clients prepay for the first 5 hours and then they go onto PAYG each week. When running my Aged Receivables’s report, the totals at the bottom of the aging columns were being incorrectly calculated due to the prepayments being ‘taken off’ the total amount due. Usually I’d end up calculating the totals manually which I hated doing.
So I started to explore the report a bit more and realised that I hadn’t been using my filters! And because I love learning new tips and tricks to make the most out of my software, here is a present from me to you…
How to use filters when creating your reports.
