Everyday I fight the urge to visit a little known sandwich shop on Henderson Blvd in south Tampa. There are few places where you can get a different soup and/or salad every day of the week and be pleased with the result. Barrow’s Gourmet Deli has all the perfect elements of a solid neighborhood eatery. They consistently provide great food and service. Seminole Heights Independent “Shindig at the Shindie”
The Seminole Heights Indpendent will be holding a grand opening “Shindig at the Shindie” (Seminole Heights Independent) on Saturday, December 5, 2009, beginning at 4 pm. Live music begins at 5 pm (Pickford Sundries, Cluster Pluck, and Reverend Jeff Mosier). Offering beer specials; food (catered by the Happy Shack); and prizes. Check it out! According to Bay Fogona’s Craig’s List ad it’s a: New latin restaurant “Bay Fogona” Located at 6428 N Florida ave. We now serve Breakfast, Lunch And Dinner . Today we have “Sancocho” , Rice & beans ( Red or Black ) with steak or chicken. Empanaadas, Pinchos , And much more .. Bay Fogona suffers from an identity crisis. When you open the menu there are few items resembling a “Latin Restaurant”.  The menu closely resembles Merino’s old menu with a few extra options to include Italian entrees. Last Week’s OSHNA Board Meeting
I limited my exposure to the world this week due to a head cold.  I missed last weeks Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association board meeting but I did receive this e-mail from an attendee: “The topic of the lawyers came up and Brad Patrick explained how their purpose was to prepare the board for the possibility that several threatened suits may happen.  People were confused by that.  Jeff brought up as an example that Rick Fifer had made one of those threats and that two sitting board members were involved in pledging money to support that threat.  Specifically, he mentioned that Sherry King had volunteered $50.  Sherry denied it repeatedly saying she did not,
