The University of Rio Grande's Jazz Ensemble will be performing on Tuesday, Nov. 24 beginning at 8 p.m. in the Berry Fine and Performing Arts Center. The Jazz Ensemble includes Rio Grande students who rehearse together throughout the year in order to learn to perform different styles of jazz. The concert will be of great interest to area residents whether they love jazz music or if they are not very familiar with this style of music at all. University of Rio Grande Women's Masterworks Chorale Hold Annual Fall Concert Sunday, November 22 The University of Rio Grande's Masterworks Chorale will hold its annual fall concert on Sunday, Nov. 22. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the Berry Fine and Performing Arts Center, and is free and open to the public. The Boards of Trustees for the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College held a joint retreat recently to discuss new goals and programs for all Rio Grande students. Food Drive Held at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College
A local food pantry will be stocked full of food for the next few months thanks to a recent non-perishable food drive at the University of Rio Grande. The food drive was led by a combined effort from Sodexo Food Service and the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team, and brought in donations from students, faculty, staff, several local schools and area residents. Sodexo Food Service took part in the food drive as part of the national Helping Hands Across America event. This one-day event was coordinated by Sodexo Food Service sites all across the country. New Art Exhibit at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College
A new art exhibit at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College invites area residents not just to look over the piece, but to add their comments to it. The exhibit is an art installation by Duane McDiarmid, an associate professor of sculpture and expanded practice at Ohio University. The art installation is currently available for the public to see in the Greer Museum on the Rio Grande campus, and a reception will be held with the artist on Monday, Nov. 30 from 5-7 p.m. The piece, known as “The Trickster Project,” is a unique project that has been seen around the country. “The installation is a combin
