Focusing on the Good
It wasn’t a great week for me, but instead of focusing on the bad things happen, I’m going to glaze over them and talk about the fun stuff that went on this week. I’m tired of being upset.
Wednesday, I randomly got sick at work. It was out of nowhere. I woke up feeling fine. I ironed one of Dave’s shirts, took a shower, ate breakfast and felt completely normal. I started feeling sick on the way to work and it just got worse as the day went on. Dave thought I might have a flu and took me to urgent care, which was $70, when he got off work. They couldn’t really tell me what was wrong, but gave me a shot and prescription for nausea medicine. I still felt
The Emotion I Feel is Anger
There aren’t many words in the English language I hate, but I have a new one. “Hospice”. Simply put, hospice means that people come to take care of your family members before they die. These people are so sick that they can’t get out of bed to take care of themselves because they are in so much pain. Hospice pumps them full of pain medicine to try and make them more comfortable before they pass for good.
For the record, I do not hate Hospice staff of Hospice nurses. In fact, these people are some of the most wonderful people in the world. If you have the ability to deal with the people that have exhausted all their other options for treatment, you are bet
Silver Charm Bracelet
Dave’s Dad went to Portugal a few weeks ago to visit his parents and he came back with this adorable silver charm bracelet they had given me. I haven’t taken it off since I received it and plan on getting a few more charms to go with it.
I don’t really have a relationship with my grandparents on either side, so it’s nice to be accepted so openly into Dave’s family. 10 minutes after I started writing this, Dave came home to tell me his granpa had a stroke.
Energy Burst
This morning I woke up hoping it was Sunday still so I had another day to just sleep and not have to go work. This weekend was exhausting. I didn’t do anyhting that was particularly tiring, it was just a combonation of everything. I was very productive-I cleaned both houses (my condo and Dave’s) ran a bunch of errands, bought some new “work attire”, fixed my broken bracelet, dropped off my pearl necklace that’s been broken for 4 months to get fixed, organized some things in the house to make more room for my crap, and even managed to hit the gym on Sunday. I was happy with how much I accomplished, but there’s still a lot more I would like to do.
Worst Case Scenario
I have been preoccupied with the world series, which in my opinion, was one of the most boring World Series’ ever. And that’s not just because my team lost. By game 3, I think everyone knew the Yankee’s were going to win it. Philly fans still had that glimmer of hope in their eyes, but in the back of our heads we were all going, “We’re so fucked.” And the fans sucked. Yeah, the Philly fans were their typical asshole selves, but since most of the games were in New York and the only people that can afford a ticket to Yankee stadium are the mayor and Katie Couric, the fans were boring. I’m sure it was more exciting there then they could have ever sh
