We can do it!
Time for sensible chat is over. No more thinking about opposition, will Dan Carter make it, will Nonu find some form etc. Now is the time for belief.
Every international I follow the same pattern, a couple of weeks swinging between high hopes and the depths of despair. Believing we are world beaters and believing that the St Trinians U15 hockey team will beat us. But that time has past and now I have reached that level – the level where I KNOW Wales will win, no matter who the opposition.
Yes I have been proved wrong on occasion before, there have been times Wales have lost a rugby match. But only times and this time is different, I can feel it is (just like all
Do the All Blacks Have an ‘Aura of Invincibility’
Or have they ever?
That seems to be a debate that is happening all across Wales at the moment. From Warren Gatland claiming they used to, and Graham Henry questioning what he meant by that, to fans on Rugby Rebels discussing it at length (page 5 onwards iirc).
So do they have an aura of invincibility? Did they ever have one? And what is one anyway?
What do we mean by aura?
Forget for a moment some new age, hippy idea about seeing aura’s, that is not what we mean (or at least, not what I mean) by aura. Instead I am using aura as an umbrella term that covers a multitude of
New Zealand Team vs Wales
New Zealand have named their team to take on Wales on Saturday evening – and superstar outside half Dan Carter overcomes a calf injury to take his place out outside half for the All Blacks.
Elsewhere there are 6 changes, 2 enforced due to suspensions to Sivivatu and Woodcock, from the team that beat Australia in Tokyo – including a debut for Zac Guildford on the wing.
New Zealand Team vs Wales
Mils Muliaina; Cory Jane, Conrad Smith, Ma Nonu, Zac Guildford; Dan Carter, Brendan Leonard; Wyatt Crockett, Andrew Hore, Neemia Tialata, Brad Thorn, Jason Eaton, Jerome Kaino, Richie McCaw (capt), Kieran Read.
Replacements: Corey Flynn, Owen Franks, Tom Do
Will Wales be Playing Total Rugby?
Remember total football? No not a computer game but the ideal, with players able to fill in and do all the jobs, players talented enough to do anything that was needed as and when the situation demanded it – spearheaded by a great Dutch football team.
Those of us old enough to remember that might wonder if the same thing is going to be happening with the Welsh rugby team vs the All Blacks during the 2009 Autumn Internationals. Why do I say that? Well a couple of reasons actually.
Rugby Styles
After a disappointing 6 Nations where Wales could only really be described as predictable ma
THE Haka post
Here in Wales we love the New Zealand Haka. Well we love talking about it anyway!
Forums such as Rugby Rebels and Gwlad are, yet again, awash with people talking about the Haka. should it be done? Should Wales be allowed to respond how they like? Should we just tell them to stop prancing around like sissys? Is it good theatre? Should grown men really stick their tongues out.
So to put such thoughts into perspective, and because I can’t be bothered to come up with a serious post about it, I have collected a bunch of ‘quality’ haka videos. By which I of course mean funny haka video
