Wendy Babiak is the author of Conspiracy of Leaves, (Plain View Press). Elsewhere, she’s described her book as “a horrifically earnest affair with which [she] hope[s] to save the world from it’s downward spiral into senselessness and violence (against other humans and against nature itself). It’s thesis (if a book of poems can be said to have one of those) is that it’s time to discard those ideas that divide us, that no longer serve us, and embrace our unity as a species, and the unity of our species with the rest of the living world.” Which she’s fully aware is an awfully tall order for a book of poetry (or any book for that matter).
